Astronaut to Speak at Cancer Center Benefit
Former NASA astronaut Jerry Ross will speak Wednesday at Munster's Center for Visual & Performing Arts. The veteran of seven space flights and northwest Indiana native will speak as part of a benefit for the city's Cancer Resource Centre.
The Purdue University graduate logged nearly 1,400 hours in space. He is also a U.S. Air Force veteran and author of three books. We will speak at the Center For Visual & Performing Arts' annual "Share The Love" event.
Net proceeds will go to the Cancer Resource Centre, which is a program of the Community Cancer Research Foundation. The organization aims to boost quality of care for cancer patients in northwest Indiana and the Chicago suburbs. The nonprofit's services are offered for free to those in need.
