ANGOLA - The Angola Common Council has approved an agreement to pay $40,000 to Indianapolis-headquartered HWC Engineering for an update to its city comprehensive plan. The update is intended to consolidate recent planning efforts into one cohesive vision for the city.

The recommendations of recent planning efforts, including economic development plans, a housing study and America’s Best Communities planning will all be consolidated into a singular document that reflects one overarching goal for the city.

The plan will then be presented to the public for input on the draft, reviewed by the plan commission and adopted, reviewed and voted on by the common council and finally implemented.

Phase one will be a three month long period of plan development to commence when cleared to proceed and the contract is set.

A two month period will follow that are for plan review and adoption.
