Bosma Enterprises Names New CEO

Jeffrey Mittman as its next chief executive officer. Mittman, who currently serves as chief operating officer of the organization, will begin his new role in August and become the first CEO in the organization’s 100-year history who is blind.
Bosma Enterprises is a nonprofit organization that provides training and employment for people who are blind or visually impaired. Mittman lost his vision while on active military duty for the U.S. Army in Iraq.
"This is a game changer," said Lise Pace, vice president of external affairs, who served on the executive search committee. "Jeff’s appointment is indicative of a paradigm shift in the way disability organizations look today and into the future, where qualified individuals with disabilities are represented in greater numbers at the very highest level."
Mittman will succeed Lou Moneymaker, who announced his retirement last year.
"Jeff has demonstrated unwavering dedication to our mission and is fired up about the opportunities that lie ahead for the company to expand employment and training for people who are blind," Moneymaker said in a news release. "Jeff’s passion will be a valuable asset not only to Bosma Enterprises but to the community at large."
Mittman joined the board of directors for Bosma in 2012 and was appointed COO in July 2018. He previously held positions at the Defense Finance and Accounting Services and National Industries for the Blind.
