The National Bank of Indianapolis Chief Executive Officer Morrie Maurer has announced his retirement after 25 years. Executive Vice President and Chief Banking Officer Mark Bruin will succeed Maurer beginning January 4.

Maurer helped found The National Bank of Indianapolis in 1993, serving as director, president and CEO. He previously held several financial and leadership positions at Indiana National Bank between 1975 and 1992. He will remain a member of the bank’s board of directors and serve as a consultant. He serves on additional boards including the Indy Chamber, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and Indiana Landmarks.

Mark Bruin has been with The National Bank of Indianapolis for nearly 18 years, including the last seven as executive vice president and chief banking officer. His 37-year banking career also includes leadership positions with Indiana National Bank and NBD Bank.
