The chamber of commerce for Clark and Floyd counties says the awards are given to "individuals who have used their skills and talents to not only enhance their organizations, but also make their community a better place to live, work and grow."
The ACE Awards are named to "Appreciate and Celebrate Excellence," according to 1si. The winners are chosen by a panel of independent judges, which includes one 1si representative.
The 2018 winners include:
James W. Robinson Young Professional of the Year
• Jessica Carroll, The New Washington State Bank
Kightlinger & Gray, LLP Sam Day Professional of the Year
• Stephen Lukinovich, MCM CPAs & Advisors
Duke Energy Kevin Hammersmith Community Leader
• Dr. Travis Haire, Ivy Tech Community College
Nu-Yale Chairman’s Legacy Award
• Steven Stemler – The Stemler Corp.
The Chairman’s Legacy Award is presented "when a person has made a significant impact on the organization and is considered a leader during their times of involvement. Stemler is a former Indiana state representative and member of the Jeffersonville City Council.
