Launch Indy Announces Pre-Accelerator
A coworking space in downtown Indianapolis has announced a new pre-accelerator initiative. Launch Indy says the program is designed to prepare early-stage social enterprises for growth or funding.
The first cohort of the program will begin in December and end in late February with a public pitch event at The Union 525. Launch Indy says participants will receive mentoring and instruction through workshops related to customer discovery, fundraising, marketing and branding, and business plans, among other topics.
"We’re seeing an increasing number of for-profit and not-for-profit organizations in Indianapolis focused on tackling society’s biggest problems," Katie Birge, executive director at Launch Indy, said in a news release. "This social enterprise accelerator is designed to help those in the earliest stages of their business validate their idea and prepare for the next steps of business growth. Companies who complete the program will be more prepared to apply to larger, equity-based accelerators or to simply grow their business."
Launch Indy says any type of social enterprise-related business entity or soon-to-be business is eligible to apply for the pre-accelerator. Applications are being accepted through November 14.
