Merrillville-based Centier Bank is reporting quarterly net income of $14.8 million. The bank says the results represent the highest quarterly net income in its 123-year history.

Centier is also reporting its highest year-to-date income in September in the bank's history. During the quarter, the bank opened its 60th Indiana branch in Fishers and plans to open its next branch in Elkhart next month.

"The Centier family continues to build on our successes and grow along with the communities we serve," said Mike Schrage, chief executive officer of Centier Bank. "Our total deposits grew by 12.4% compared to this time last year, and that is a tremendous sign that people trust Centier and believe in our mission of being a true community and family banking partner."

Earlier this year, Centier announced it had surpassed $4 billion in assets.
