BLOOMINGTON and COLUMBUS - The cities of Bloomington and Columbus and Indianapolis-based Elevate Ventures have announced a partnership the venture development organization says is designed to "begin the cultural shift toward entrepreneurism and innovation" in the region. The agreement includes contributions of up to $1.5 million from Elevate Ventures and $1 million from the cities.

The collaboration includes:

  • investment opportunities for businesses with high-potential
  • portfolio services
  • events
  • marketing support
  • business coaching
  • professional resources
  • a dedicated entrepreneur-in-residence

Partners and supporters will hold a public launch event December 6 at Hard Truth Hills Welcome Center in Nashville.

Elevate Ventures continues to expand its presence throughout the state. In February, it detailed its first portfolio conference -- Kinetic -- designed to bring together business, funding, community and academic stakeholders. Shortly after, the Indiana Economic Development Corp. announced Elevate would take over administration of the state's Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer program. Kyle Keeney was recently named entrepreneur-in-residence for Elevate in the Kentuckiana region. Elevate last week detailed early adopters in Fort Wayne of a program in its partner communities called The Community Ideation Fund designed to boost early-stage startups.

The organization touts an impact on 80 Indiana counties. You can connect to more about the collaboration in Bloomington and Columbus by clicking here.
