ROI Launches Community Grant Program
PAOLI - Regional Opportunity Initiatives has launched the Ready Communities Initiative grant program for the 11-county Indiana Uplands region. The new initiative will provide resources to implement projects and programs to better the quality of life in the region.
Each of the 11 counties in southwest central Indiana is eligible for a $50,000 planning grant to devise a Quality of Place and Workforce Attraction Plan, followed by up to $3 million in implementation grants in 2019-2020 to groups or projects who successfully complete their attraction plans. Funding categories include: Beautification Enhancements, Connectivity Infrastructure Development, Community Cohesion & Support Initiatives.
“The Ready Communities Grant program is a great opportunity for the 11-county region,” said Davies County Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Ron Arnold. “It is a ground-up approach, which is much different from many grants that are top down. This grant program will allow each county to evaluate what project or projects will best serve their county’s needs. I greatly appreciate the opportunity for Daviess County to be involved.”
Counties are able to submit applications beginning November 1. The deadline to apply is December 31. More information on the community grant program can be found here.
