Fort Wayne-based Sweetwater Sound has announced plans to add more than 130 jobs at its Allen County distribution center. The company says the expansion has created an immediate need for equipment operators and shipping & receiving specialists.

Sweetwater says the positions include full-time jobs on all shifts, as well as part-time jobs on the weekends. The company adds it has "significantly increased" its pay structure for the jobs, with potential starting rates between $13-$15 per hour, depending on factors such as prior experience.

Sweetwater was founded in 1979 by Chuck Surack and now employs more than 1,300 at its 400,000-square-foot campus in Fort Wayne. Late last year, Surack appeared on a special Fort Wayne Town Hall Edition of Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick and talked about the company's growth plans.
