BLOOMINGTON - B-Start in Bloomington has opened applications for its next five-month run. The pre-accelerator program for high-growth startups is designed to help launch innovative enterprises and create jobs.

The four-year old Bloomington Economic Development Corporation program is open to anyone living in Monroe County, including IU and Ivy Tech students, and involves mentorship, workshops and a pitch competition. B-Start is beginning to renew focus on lean business models and customer building, and also hopes to include programming and financial assistance after completion of the program.

“B-Start gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to engage with the local business community and learn first-hand about how to build the foundation for a successful business in Bloomington,” said Anne McCombe, Project Manager of the BEDC. “We have great momentum in our entrepreneurial ecosystem. It’s an exciting time to be a startup in Bloomington.”

The program has graduated 27 companies since its launch. To apply, or to learn more about B-Start, click here
