The president of Indianapolis-based Methodist Sports Medicine will soon take on a new role. Mark Ritter has been named medical director of Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield.

In his new role, Ritter will be responsible for providing medical supervision oversight for all athletic events at Grand Park as well as planning and directing the medical policies and procedures at the facility. He will develop clinical policies and procedures at the recently-opened Methodist Sports Medicine Clinic at Grand Park, treat athletes playing at the facility and work with local public safety and emergency medicine personnel.

A spokesperson for Methodist Sports Medicine tells Inside INdiana Business Ritter will continue to serve as president in addition to his new duties as medical director at Grand Park. Ritter also serves as the team physician for the University of Indianapolis.

Methodist Sports Medicine was named the official sports medicine provider for Grand Park last February. The new clinic at the sports campus opened in September.
