Hawthorne Community Center has announced that long-time Executive Director Diane Arnold is retiring this month, after 50 years working at the center.  The center’s board has appointed Deputy Director Elaine Dillahunt to replace her. Arnold’s retirement was recently recognized with the naming of a street in her honor that runs on the west side of the community center.  Diane Arnold Way will ensure that her numerous contributions will be forever recognized.

Dillahunt has more than 35 years of experience in community programs and services, most recently as superintendent of operations at Indy Parks and Recreation. During her tenure at Indy Parks, Dillahunt held a variety of positions including interim director.

Hawthorne Community Center serves the westside of Indianapolis and provides a variety of services for all ages including early education, financial literacy classes and senior citizen programming.
