The Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center has named Sharon Smith communications manager. She joins the organization after launching and running an Indianapolis-based PR firm, Maverick Public Relations, for 12 years. Along with strategic communications, Smith will lead continued efforts to engage the media and public by building relationships with key stakeholders and developing tactics that maximize engagement. She holds a dual-bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science from Indiana State University.
