Marian to Offer Online Masters in Teaching Degree
Marian University has announced plans to launch an online Master of Arts in Teaching degree. The program, which will begin this fall, is expected to take 18-24 months for students to complete.
The university says the program requires at least one semester of full-time teaching in a local school. Those who already as a full-time classroom teacher may be able to fulfill that requirement with their current position.
"Whether the goal is to receive a master’s degree in teaching or a desire to graduate with a teaching license, our new MAT Online program now offers this flexibility," said Erika Wise, director of online programs. "It prepares individuals with career aspirations to be teacher leaders who want to transform schools, students’ lives, families, society, and our world."
Marian says requirements for application to the program include an undergraduate degree with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, or a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher with five years of professional work experience. The university is currently accepting applications for the inaugural semester this fall.
