Indianapolis-based Strategic Capital Partners has named John Cumming senior vice president of development. He previously served as senior vice president of Buckingham Companies. Cumming managed company development operations and the firm’s commercial real estate portfolio. He worked 14 years as vice president and general manager of Opus Development. In 1998, Cumming opened the Opus Indianapolis office and led development programs in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. He is a graduate of Indiana University with a B.A. in economics. Cumming serves on the board of directors for the Indiana Chapter of NAIOP, the commercial real estate development association, and served on the NAIOP corporate board of directors for three years. He is also a member of Urban Land Institute and is a licensed Indiana Managing Broker. Strategic Capital Partners was formed in 2005 as a commercial and urban multi-use development company.
