TERRE HAUTE - One of the state's busiest airports is in the process of significant changes. They include a new name for Terre Haute International Airport, which no longer meets U.S. Federal Aviation Administration requirements to be called "international."

Other changes include converting the runway to a taxiway using federal funding and improving the historic building's aging brick exterior. Our partners at WTHI-TV report construction could begin in the fall and be complete next spring.

Officials aim to pick a new name and have an updated logo by year's end. In a statement, leader say they hope the new name will "encompass the energy and high tech direction of the growth plans."
