A well-known Madison County personality is the new executive director of the Anderson/Madison County Visitors Bureau. For the past 16 years, Matt Rust has been a popular morning show host on WQME radio and also served as the station's program director. He succeeds Tom Bannon, who is leaving to become vice president and chief foundation officer for Community Hospital Anderson.

Rust will assume his new role July 1.

"Matt has extensive knowledge of Madison County's attractions and festivities," said Mark Lamey, chair of the bureau's board of directors. "Matt has also developed deep relationships throughout the county which will serve him well in his new role. We are thrilled to have him lead the organization.
