INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Indianapolis based Timmy Global Health (Timmy) today announced former Roche executive Nancy Wright as its next Executive Director following an extensive national search. Wright will be responsible for leading the continued expansion of Timmy Global Health. She begins on February 2.
“Nancy’s passion for improving health outcomes, experience managing remote teams in multiple countries and success developing efficient operating models will be key in expanding Timmy Global Health,” said Emily Krueger, Chair of the Search Committee and member of Timmy’s Board of Directors.
Wright has spent her professional career in the healthcare industry with Fortune 500 companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Aventis and most recently Roche Diagnostics where she held both domestic and international executive positions in General Management, Strategy and Business Development.
Her healthcare experience provided Wright the opportunity to work and live in both developed and developing countries. Wright has a deep understanding of the complexity in delivering standardized healthcare to patients while offering families support that can demonstrate improved health outcomes. She also has extensive experience in working with non-‐profits, having served as both a volunteer and on a variety of boards and committees focused on health, youth, food security, and education.
"I am thrilled for the opportunity to serve as Timmy’s next Executive Director,” said Nancy. “The organization’s mission and goals are well-‐aligned with my passion of ensuring quality healthcare for our most vulnerable populations. My desire and drive to change my career and to pursue my dream of working in a not-‐for-‐profit healthcare organization was solidified after 5 years spent living and working in Asia – where I saw firsthand how inadequate/inaccessible healthcare leads to a destructive cycle of poverty. I cannot wait to use my passion, skills, and experience to help grow the great work of Timmy Global Health.”
“When you have the talent and drive of Timmy’s staff and volunteers, it’s important that you also have a leader that can give strategic guidance without inhibiting their passion and excitement,” said Dr. Chuck Dietzen, Founder of Timmy Global Health. “Nancy is that kind of leader. I’m excited to have her step into this role, and I believe she is the best person to lead our team and help them better achieve their great work.”
Wright fills the vacancy created by Matt MacGregor’s departure to join The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria last March. Nancy will become the 17th member of Timmy’s staff, which includes eight US-‐based and eight international employees across the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and Guatemala.
Wright holds a B.S. from California State University and is currently enrolled in the Master’s program at the University of Washington School of Public Health. Timmy supporters and the Central Indiana community will have the opportunity to meet her at the organization’s 12th Annual Event: Small Beginnings, Big Impact at the Conrad Hotel on February 27.
