CNO Names Two VP's
Carmel-based CNO Financial Group has named Pat Casey (pictured) vice president and chief technology officer and Wha-Ning Doo (pictured) vice president of annuity valuation. Casey most recently served as the vice president of IT infrastructure and operations at Brunswick Corporation. Prior to this role, he was the vice president of IT infrastructure and operations for Delhaize America, OfficeMax, CNA Insurance and The Northern Trust Company.

Gregory and Appel Names CRO
Gregory & Appel Insurance in Indianapolis named David Fischer chief revenue officer. He previously served in a similar role at Seven Corners in Carmel. After serving eight years as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corp, Fischer spent twelve years in the high-tech public sector with an emphasis on international sales providing manufacturing software solutions to the Fortune 100. He has spent the last fourteen years in the private sector.

Gibson Announces Promotion
Gibson in Indianapolis has promoted Courtney Simpkiss to chief growth officer. She joined the company in 2018 as director of business development. Prior to that, Simpkiss spent over 13 years at ADP in a variety of senior leadership roles both in sales and service operations.

Huntington Insurance Hires VP
Huntington Insurance in Indianapolis has hired Joe Sandifer as vice president and senior risk advisor in Central Indiana. He has over 25 years of experience in commercial insurance and last has held a position as a commercial insurance producer with ONI Risk Partners. Sandifer earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University.

Huntington Adds Vice President
Huntington Insurance in Indianapolis has added Chris Cazares as vice president of client strategy & benefits innovation in Central Indiana. He most recently served as senior benefits consultant with R.E. Sutton & Associates in Carmel. Cazares earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University.

ONI Adds to Evansville Team
ONI Risk Partners has added Fred Emory as commercial insurance risk advisor. He most recently served as new business representative at Advanced Disposal Services. Emory's 25+ years of experience in the area includes partnering with community organizations. He is the newly appointed EVSC school ambassador chairman of the Downtown Rotary Club of Evansville education committee as well as a member and ambassador of the SWIN Chamber of Commerce.

ONI Adds Two to Evansville Team
ONI Risk Partners in Evansville has hired Erin Monroe (pictured) as employee benefits account manager and Scott Crutcher (pictured) as employee benefits advisor. Monroe previously served as director of group benefits for Crosspointe Insurance Advisors. Crutcher most recently served as human resources manager for employee benefit administration at Vectren Corp.

CNO Financial Appoints CRO
CNO Financial Group, Inc. has appointed Tim Bischof as chief risk officer. Bischof has been CNO's senior vice president, corporate actuary and enterprise risk management since 2013. He will continue in that role in addition to his promotion. Bischof spent six years as an actuary with Indianapolis Life and CIGNA Corp before joining CNO in 2001. He holds degrees from Rockhurst University and the University of Iowa.

Gibson Adds to Staff
South Bend-based Gibson has named Stephanie Rufus benefits administration assistant. She previously worked at Beacon Health. The company also hired Sheri Butler as HR manager for the HR service team of select business solutions. She has had progressive HR experience including recruiting, employee relations and administration at other companies.

Protective Insurance Names CEO
Carmel-based Protective Insurance Corporation (NASDAQ: PTVCA) (NASDAQ: PTVCB) has named Jeremy D. Johnson chief executive officer. Johnson previously served as CEO and president of Lexington Insurance Company, AIG’s excess and surplus lines unit. Johnson was also a broker for Sedgwick Inc. and Marsh Inc.

Peterson Hired By Huntington Insurance
Huntington Insurance has hired Stu Peterson as a vice president and risk advisor. Peterson has over 35 years experience in the financial industry, with a majority of those as an independent agent, surety bonding specialist and construction project risk advisor. He holds a bachelor's degree and MBA from Butler University.

ONI Risk Partners Adds to Franklin Office
ONI Risk Partners has hired Mike Smith as a commercial risk advisor working from the company’s Green Owens Insurance office in Franklin. Smith concentrates on the identification, assessment, and management of the overall impact and cost of risk to commercial insurance clients. He most recently managed business relationships for an international distribution and outsourcing group. Smith also held positions with PepsiCo and Kellogg's.

MJ Insurance Appoints Consultant
Carmel-based MJ Insurance has appointed Rebecca Sterchi employee benefits consultant. She has more than 20 years of experience in the human resources and employee benefits field. Sterchi most recently served as employee benefits advisor for Apex Benefits Group, where she was responsible for designing and executing employee benefits strategy and driving rapid client growth at the firm.

CNO Financial Names CIO
Carmel-based CNO Financial Group Inc. has appointed Mike Mead senior vice president and chief information officer. He has more than 20 years of experience in general management and technology leadership within the insurance industry. Mead previously served as senior vice president and transformation executive with AIG Technologies.

IMG Appoints Global Head of Products
Indianapolis-based International Medical Group has appointed Glenn Maykish global head of products and strategy. He will be responsible for leading global product development for IMG's family of companies. Maykish previously served as chief commercial officer at AXA Assistance USA. He also previously served as head of global accident and health group business at AIG.

Protective Insurance CEO Resigns
Carmel-based Protective Insurance Corp. President and Chief Executive Officer Randy Birchfield has resigned. The company says it is now open to evaluating "potential strategic partnerships or transactions." Jay Nichols, who most recently served as CEO of Bermuda-based AXIS Capital Holdings Limited, has been named interim CEO and chairman of the board.

Gregory & Appel Insurance Appoints COO
Gregory & Appel Insurance has promoted Christina Kelley to chief operating officer. She has served as vice president, manager of commercial operations since 2017. She previously served as business operations director for the Capital Improvement Board of Managers of Marion County and as a senior manager for KPMG LLP.

Hylant Hires Two
Hylant has hired Adam Funk as client service executive with a focus in property and casualty for small commercial lines. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management with the Kelley School of Business through IUPUI. Also, Amelia Warren has been named a personal lines client service manager.

ONI Risk Partners Adds Renie to Staff
ONI Risk Partners has hired Charlie Renie as a commercial risk advisor. He concentrates on the identification, assessment and management of the overall impact and cost of risk to his mid-to-large commercial insurance clients to help improve their bottom line. Renie most recently served as vice president of account management for KBIC LLC in Indianapolis.

OneAmerica Names SVP of Operations
OneAmerica has appointed Jason Lilien senior vice president of enterprise operations for the Indianapolis-based financial services company. He brings nearly 25 years of financial and operational experience to the newly created role. Lilien most recently served as managing director and global co-head of operations for Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management.

Managed Health Services has named Christina Hage vice president of external affairs. She has more than a decade of experience in state and federal government and the private sector with a focus on public policy, communications and government affairs. Schererville-based Meyers Glaros Group has added Liz Gilhooly as commercial property and casualty insurance team assistant. She most recently served as a customer service representative at Alverno Clinical Laboratories. Also, Tara Goble has been named benefits team assistant.

Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Names President
Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Indiana has appointed Kimberly Roop president of its Medicaid plan. She most recently served as regional vice president and medical director and succeeds Kristen Metzger, who is assuming an expanded role within the organization as president, Medicaid central region.

Gibson Adds Risk Advisor
Indiana-based Gibson has hired Brian Souders as a risk advisor. He will be responsible for risk management and insurance services. Souders began his career in insurance in 2003, while working for Chubb and Amerisure, and a smaller, independent insurance agency. Gibson is a regional insurance broker, risk management firm and HR platform provider.

Communications Vet Joins OneAmerica
Indianapolis-based OneAmerica has selected Brandi Davis-Handy as vice president of communications and events. In her new role, she will lead OneAmerica’s internal communications, public relations and meeting planning functions. Davis-Handy most recently served as the U.S. communications leader for AES Corp. and director of external communications at Indianapolis Power & Light Co.

Anthem Names Patel President, Diversified Business Group
Anthem Inc. has appointed Prakash Patel executive vice president and president of the diversified business group, effective August 6. He currently serves as chief operating officer of the GuideWell Enterprise and Florida Blue, as well as president of GuideWell Health. Patel also previously served as CEO of Access Mediquip and has held executive roles with Magellan Health Services, Internet Healthcare Group and Scheer & Co.

OneAmerica Names Executives to Lead Key Business Lines
OneAmerica has named Sandy McCarthy president of retirement services. She is transitioning from a consulting role with her own firm. McCarthy most recently served as North America region benefits administration business leader at Mercer. Also, Dennis Martin has been promoted to president of individual life and financial services. He has been with the company since 2009 and previously served as senior VP of product and business development.

Seven Corners Hires Two
Carmel-based Seven Corners Inc. has named Sue Clevenger customer experience director. She previously worked for Aprimo LLC (formerly Teradata) as vice president of customer experience. Clevenger will oversee the multicultural 24/7 Customer Service team. Also, Jeremy Murchland has been appointed vice president of sales. He most recently worked as vice president of business development for ALOM.

Anthem Names Executive VP
Anthem Inc. has named Felicia Norwood executive vice president and president, government business division. She has more than 25 years of health care operations, policy and strategy experience. Most recently, Norwood served as director of Illinois’ Department of Healthcare and Family Services, leading a $22 billion agency with responsibility for serving the state’s 3.2 million Medicaid beneficiaries and 500,000 families receiving child support services.

Anthem Names IngenioRx Leader
Anthem Inc. has appointed Deepti Jain to lead IngenioRx, Anthem’s newly-launched pharmacy benefits manager. She is currently chief operating officer of IngenioRx, has been directly responsible for the development and operational plan for the company, which will deliver a transformative PBM offering with best-in-class capabilities to improve outcomes and reduce cost of care.

Hylant Hires Health Strategist
Hylant has hired Stephanie Thornberry as health strategist, employee benefits. She has spent the past 10 years at the Marion County Public Health Department in various roles, most recently as a chronic disease prevention specialist working one on one with local schools to build programs and best practices for wellness.

Gibson Names Senior Client Manager
Gibson has named Lisa Thomas senior client manager. She is responsible for working with the client executive to determine overall risk management program goals and developing strategies to achieve those goals. In addition, Thomas manages the insurance renewal process. She also acts as the central point of communication to coordinate service requests with team members and underwriters to communicate insurance program needs.

CNO Financial Group Appoints VP
Carmel-based CNO Financial Group Inc. has appointed Michael Milos vice president of sales and distribution strategy at its Washington National business segment. He is an industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience in insurance sales. Milos previously served as head of sales, North America at MetLife Worldwide Benefits.

Gibson Adds Sales Executives
Pat Schaefer and Brian Sackowski have joined Gibson as sales executives in the personal insurance and private client group. Schaefer previously worked in the insurance industry for more than 11 years, most recently as a sales executive/principal at Financial Partners Group LLC. Sackowski previously worked in the insurance industry for more than 15 years, most recently as a personal risk advisor at USI Insurance Services.

McGowan Insurance Group Names Partner
Indianapolis-based McGowan Insurance Group has promoted Michael Highum to partner. He has been serving as vice president of the firm since 2003. In this new role, Highum will continue to help manage the overall firm, as well as lead other strategic and business development initiatives.

CareSource Names CEO
An Ohio-based health care insurance provider with a growing presence in Indiana has named its next chief executive officer. CareSource says Erhardt Preitauer will begin his new role in May. Erhardt currently serves as CEO of Horizon NJ Health, which is the largest Medicaid plan in the state of New Jersey. He succeeds Pamela Morris, who will retire in May.

Hylant Adds to Team
Hylant has hired Patricia Garcia as client market and data consultant of employee benefits. She previously served as a marketing analyst for Apex and as director of analytics with FirstPerson. Also, Samuel Bennett has been named sales assistant. He is a University of Dayton, Ohio graduate with a B.A. in Communications and a Minor in Marketing and Management.

Unified Group Services Makes Promotions
Unified Group Services has promoted Forrest Williamson (pictured) to vice president of sales. He served as sales executive for the past six years. Ryan Chapman has expanded his role to vice president of business development. Also, Aaron Fischer has been appointed vice president of sales in the southeast part of the United States, and Tyler Vanderpool will act as regional sales executive covering the midwest.

ONI Risk Partners has named Jerome LaReau vice president claims services. His career spans 30 years of claims management experience representing both the insurance company and the broker. Most recently, LaReau served as regional manager - claim account executive at Travelers. Also, Mike Loveless has been hired as a commercial risk adviser. He previously worked for JPMorgan Chase as a branch manager. Loveless earned his bachelor’s degree from IPFW.

Fuzion Appoints CFO
Carmel-based Fuzion has appointed Ginger Darrough chief financial officer. Over the last 20 years, she has made many contributions in the insurance and finance industries. Earlier in her career, Darrough led the development of an underwriting tool, marketing tool and an overpayment application. She has held a variety of leadership roles, including as senior vice president, in the insurance, finance and tech industries.

Hylant has named Denise Chavis regional claims advocate leader. She will lead advocacy efforts for the Indianapolis, Ft. Wayne and Bloomington offices, overseeing the claims practice members assigned to those offices. Chavis most recently served as a litigation specialist at State Farm Insurance. Anthem Names President of Life & Disability Business
Anthem Inc. has appointed Greg Poulakos president of its Life and Disability Business. Most recently, he served as vice president of underwriting at Lincoln Financial. Poulakos also served as senior vice president and led UnitedHealthcare’s life, disability and voluntary business. Prior to these roles, he held leadership positions with The Hartford’s group benefits and reinsurance businesses.

Physicians Health Plan Makes Promotions
Fort Wayne-based Physicians Health Plan of Northern Indiana Inc. has made three promotions. Jim Underwood (pictured) has been promoted to vice president of enterprise planning and development. Corinne Meyer has been promoted to customer service supervisor. Brittany Battenberg has been promoted to third party administrative services coordinator.

Swedish Stepping Down at Anthem
Indianapolis-based Anthem Inc. has confirmed that Chief Executive Officer Joe Swedish is stepping down. Gail Boudreax, former United Healthcare chief executive officer, will succeed Swedish effective November 20. Boudreaux is also a board member for Warsaw-based Zimmer Biomet Holdings Inc.

Kalber Takes New Role at ONI Risk Partners
ONI Risk Partners has named Linda Kalber director of client resources and engagement for its Employee Benefits division. She is responsible for leading the strategic direction of new client onboarding as well as increasing customer satisfaction and retention. Kalber has been with ONI for over 17 years and was previously leader of the Employee Benefits Client Services team.

Anthem Inc. has appointed Jacquelyn "Jackie" Wolf executive vice president and chief human resources officer. She previously served as senior vice president and chief human resources officer for LyondellBasell. Wolf has also served as senior vice president, human resources for Celanese Corp. and as executive vice president, chief human resources officer for Comerica.

Anthem Names Orozco President of Medicare East Region
Anthem Inc. has appointed Tomas Orozco president of its Medicare east region. He will oversee Anthem’s Medicare operations in Connecticut, Florida, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York and Virginia. He previously served as president of Simply Healthcare’s Medicare business in Florida.

Fuzion Adds VP of Operations
Carmel-based Fuzion has added Donald St. Cyr as vice president of operations. He previously held leadership roles at Unum, a leading provider of financial protection benefits in the United States and the United Kingdom, in the areas of enrollment and communications, underwriting and benefit administration.

Aon Appoints Senior VP
Jill Olds has been named senior vice president of Aon's Indianapolis office. She previously led the design, implementation and administration of the employee benefits programs at Cummins Inc., including healthcare and wellness strategy, onsite health clinics and employee communications.

OneAmerica Appoints Two
OneAmerica has promoted Jennifer Pittman to assistant vice president for community affairs. She replaces Jim Freeman, who retired in May after 27 years with the company. Pittman previously served as communications director for the city of Indianapolis. Also, Lou Ann Baker has been named public relations director. She previously served as associate chief operating officer for workforce integration at the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

Unified Group Services Adds to Team
Anderson-based Unified Group Services has added Jay Welch as an account executive. He has 30 years’ experience in the employee benefits industry primarily working with Indiana brokers and groups. Welch previously served as strategic client services manager at QuadMed.

Huntington Insurance Hires Sales Executive
Huntington Insurance has hired Steve Suttle as a commercial insurance sales executive. He previously worked as a customer service representative at both the Weibring Golf Club and Holiday Inn Express and most recently served as an insurance agent for Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance.

MJ Insurance Hires Three
MJ Insurance has hired: Michaela Neal (pictured), Margaret Gloyeske and Jacob Jones (pictured). Neal, who previously interned with the agency, will continue as risk specialist trainee. Gloyeske previously served as director of lawyer and consultant recruiting at Faegre Baker Daniels. She has been named a client executive. Jones has been named a consultant on the employee benefits team.

Hylant Makes Promotions
Hylant has promoted Claire Jensen to senior claim specialist in the Property and Casualty Practice. For the past 15 years she served as a claims specialist. United Benefit Advisors has named John Behn senior vice president of partner relations. In this role, he will be the primary driver of high-value services, tools, and products that enhance opportunity and growth for UBA Partner Firms. Behn began his career in the financial services arena in 1991 where he started a full-service financial services practice.

Anthem Appoints Pham VP
Anthem Inc. has named Hongmai (Mai) Pham vice president of provider alignment solutions. She is a founding official at the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation, where she recently served as chief innovation officer and was responsible for implementation of the alternative payment model provisions of the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act and other multi-organizational initiatives.

Fuzion Promotes Staldine to President & CEO
Barry Staldine has been promoted to president and chief executive officer of Fuzion. In his new role, he will provide strategic direction and oversight to growing Fuzion through the delivery and continued development of results-oriented solutions to the senior insurance industry. Staldine started with the company in 2015 as vice president of business management and was quickly moved into the role of chief operating officer.

INFB Announces Federal Lobbyist Promotion
Indiana Farm Bureau has promoted Bob White to director of national government relations. He most recently served as retail agriculture program coordinator and will continue handling issues related to value-added and retail agriculture, specialty crops, and food safety. White will also continue to represent Farm Bureau on the Indiana Grown Commission.

Seven Corners Inc. has promoted Diane Hettmasperger to director of bureau of prisons. AAA Hoosier Motor Club's Insurance Agency Names VP
Matt Goins has been selected to lead AAA Hoosier Motor Club's Insurance Agency as vice president for insurance. He previously spent 16 years with American Family Insurance. Beginning in 2013, Goins served as American Family Insurance's state sales director for Indiana. Prior to holding that position, he was district sales manager in southern Ohio and led the corporation's Store Front project in Augusta, Georgia.

Anthem Inc. has promoted Scott Towers to president of the company's dental business. He steps into this role after eight years with the company. In his new role, Towers will be responsible for developing strategy and managing the profit and loss for the dental business. Gibson Names Specialist
Gibson has named Whitney Trent health risk management specialist. She previously worked in fitness management, most recently with the National Institute for Fitness and Sport. TCU Insurance Hires Manager
Lynn Chiu has joined Teachers Credit Union Insurance Agency as a commercial lines manager. Most recently, he served as vice president of operations of an independent agency with four locations in northern Indiana. His prior experience includes an agency principal and agent specializing in commercial lines for Miller Norcen Insurance and a district sales manager for Meridian Mutual Insurance.

Managed Health Services Names Manager
Managed Health Services has named Joy Long manager of compliance. She previously served in several health management roles, including compliance officer for Chosen Healthcare, director of operations for Advantage Health Solutions, as well as deputy commissioner for health issues and director of education for the Indiana Department of Insurance. Long received her Bachelor of Arts in education and communications from Ball State University.

International Medical Group Appoints CEO
Indianapolis-based International Medical Group Inc. has promoted Todd Hancock to president and chief executive officer. Brian Barwick, IMG's former CEO, will continue to serve as executive chairman of the company. Carmel-based Baldwin & Lyons Inc. has appointed William Vens chief financial officer. The company has also announced that Randall Birchfield has been named president, in addition to his current role as chief executive officer. Vens joined the firm in 2014, most recently serving as vice president of strategy and planning. Birchfield was appointed CEO in May after previously serving as executive vice president of sales and underwriting.

Managed Health Services Hires Senior Director
Managed Health Services has named Heather Bradley senior director of complex case management. She previously worked for Clarian Health Partners, Indiana University Health and Anthem in various management and leadership roles. Bradley is a certified clinical transplant coordinator and took part in the Emerging Leaders Program in conjunction with IU's Kelley School of Business.

Seven Corners Hires Director of Customer Service
Carmel-based Seven Corners Inc. has named Cary Taylor director of customer service. He has more than 30 years of call center and customer service experience, mainly in the health care space. After beginning his career in the travel industry, Taylor spent 20 years with two Fortune 500 health plans where he worked in both federal and state government contact centers.

OneAmerica Appoints Senior VP, Chief Human Resources Officer
OneAmerica has appointed Karin Sarratt senior vice president and chief human resources officer. She currently serves as vice president of human resources at Anthem. Sarratt will join the organization in September. In this role, she will serve as a member of the OneAmerica leadership team and be responsible for all aspects of human resources function, with an early focus on culture-building, talent management and development strategies.

NAHU Names Treasurer
Patricia Griffey has been named treasurer of the National Association of Health Underwriters Board of Trustees. She has been a member of NAHU since 1997. Griffey previously completed a three-year term as regional III vice president of NAHU. She is also a co-founder of the Greater Northern Indiana Association of Health Underwriters.

Indiana Farm Bureau Announces New Roles
Indiana Farm Bureau has promoted two staff members, Megan Ritter and Katrina Hall, and has hired Shelby Swain. Ritter, former public policy director, was named executive director of administration. Hall was promoted to public policy director and was previously director of state government relations. Swain will serve as associate policy analyst and will work primarily on state policy issues.

Baldwin & Lyons Adds to Leadership Team

Anthem Names VP of National Accounts
Anthem Inc. has named Swati Mathai vice president, account management for the company’s national accounts business segment. She will take over for Perry Pogany, who is retiring. Mathai has more than 20 years of industry experience and spent the past eight years in a regional leadership position at Anthem.

Seven Corners Hires COO
Carmel-based Seven Corners Inc. has hired Amy Brown as chief operating officer. She will be based at Seven Corners’ corporate office and will be responsible for driving the operational strategic growth of the company alongside the founders and executive management team. Brown brings 18 years of experience in healthcare and government industries.

Gibson Names Principals
Gibson in South Bend has named Jordan Scheiber (pictured), David Walters and Bob Zavacky principals of the company. Scheiber works on the construction and surety team as a risk advisor. Walters is a risk advisor in the commercial management practice. Zavacky works in the employee benefits practice as a consultant.
