Sharpen Technologies Hires New CEO
Indianapolis-based Sharpen Technologies has hired Bill Gildea as its new chief executive. Gildea brings 25 years of experience working with tech firms and cloud software companies. He previously served as chief strategy officer for DocuWare and as chief operating officer for Interactive Intelligence. Gildea holds degrees from The College of William & Mary, The Catholic University of America and the University of North Carolina.

New Role For Salesforce Exec
After three years on the job, Salesforce Marketing Cloud Chief Executive Officer Bob Stutz is moving into a new role. Stutz, who will remain in Indianapolis, is now executive vice president of strategic partners at Salesforce (NYSE: CRM). Since arriving in Indianapolis, Stutz has overseen the establishment of the company’s regional headquarters in downtown Indianapolis, which included the Salesforce name being placed atop the state’s tallest building.

He succeeds company co-founded Ron Fauquher who is retiring after 39 years.

16 Tech Hires CFO
The 16 Tech Community Corporation has named Robert Herzog as Chief Financial Officer. Herzog will lead the financial operations for the 16 Tech Innovation District. He previously served as CFO, Chief Compliance Officer and Treasurer at Herzing University and was also a Senior VP at Berkeley College. Herzog holds a degree from Minnesota State University.

Leaf Software Promotes Hankinson

Genesys Names New CEO
California-based Genesys has selected former Skype CEO Tony Bates as its new chief executive officer. The company, which employs more than 800 in Indianapolis, says Bates' predecessor, Paul Segre, will continue as chairman. Bates has also previously held executive positions with Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO) and Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT), which acquired Skype in 2011.

ClearObject Hires VP
ClearObject, a digital transformation company, has named Ben Frame vice president of product for the company. Frame brings nearly 20 years of senior technical leadership designing, delivering and selling both infrastructure and cloud solutions. He spent 15 years at Apparatus where he served as chief technology officer. Frame will spearhead product development and lead a team of employees. He holds a degree from Wabash College.

SIMBA Chain Adds Shroyer
SIMBA Chain, a blockchain startup, has hired Matthew Shroyer as head of Legal and Operations. Shroyer is tasked with building out the company’s legal framework and ensuring it has the structure, policies, and procedures in place to accommodate rapid growth of the company and adoption of its blockchain as a service solution. Indy Tech Vet Leading New Venture
A new company has launched out of Indianapolis-based venture studio High Alpha and raised more than $14 million in funding. MetaCX, co-founded by Indy tech veteran Scott McCorkle, is a Software-as-a-Service platform that helps clients and businesses organize and manage their other SaaS providers. McCorkle says the company has been operating in "stealth" mode since January and plans to launch its product in early 2019.

Longtime Software Company CEO Stepping Down
Carmel-based Software Engineering Professionals Chief Executive Officer Jeff Gilbert has announced retirement plans. President Raman Ohri will become CEO when Gilbert steps down at the end of March. Gilbert and three others founded the software product design and development company in 1988 after graduating from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.

Clear Software Appoints CRO
Clear Software has appointed software veteran Bob Boehnlein chief revenue officer. He has more than 30 years of experience in software technologies for product and service companies. Carmel-based healthcare startup Olio has appointed Sean Mullins chief operating officer. Automation Company Names President
Indianapolis-based automation company Agilify has tapped Douglas Thompson as its new president. Thompson most recently served as chief executive officer of Ohio-based MedData. The company, which provides automation platforms and services aimed at improving business processes, cited Thompson's experience in scaling several technology and services companies "from inception to market dominance."

Appirio Announces CEO Transition
The co-founder of a tech company that relocated its headquarters to Indianapolis before being acquired for $500 million has accepted a larger role with the India-based parent company. Chris Barbin (pictured), who helped launch Appirio in San Francisco, is stepping down as chief executive officer to serve as global cultural officer of Wipro. Appirio Global General Manager of Customer Relationship Management Erik Duffield will succeed Barbin April 1.

Bolstra Names SaaS Industry Veteran COO
Carmel-based Bolstra has added Steve Ehrlich as chief operating officer. He has helped shape and scale the likes of Software Artistry, Aprimo, Autobase, and most recently served as president of PolicyStat. Ehrlich served as vice president of operations at Autobase and senior vice president of operations at Aprimo.

PERQ Adds Multifamily Sales VP
Indianapolis-based online consumer engagement and behavior firm PERQ has hired Patricia Crawford as vice president of multifamily sales. Ohana Software Names COO
Indianapolis-based Ohana Software has named Rosanne Burge chief operating officer. She has led operations for many local tech startups, most recently at Elevate Ventures. Mimir Adds to Outreach & Engagement Team

Indianapolis entrepreneur Jeb Banner says he is starting a "new chapter" in his professional life. The co-founder of creative agency SmallBox has transitioned chief executive officer responsibilities to his wife, Jenny Banner, while he takes over as full-time CEO of board management company Boardable. Jeb co-founded Boardable in 2016 and helped start SmallBox 12 years ago.

Carmel Tech Company Adds to Leadership Team
Carmel-based tech startup Lumavate LLC is adding two Indy area tech veterans to its executive team. The company has named Mark Hill chief executive officer and Bill Godfrey vice president of business development. Hill was the co-founder and president of another software company, Baker Hill, which was acquired by Experian in 2005 and sold to New York-based private equity firm The Riverside Co. in 2015. Godfrey is a co-founder and board member for Lumavate.

Doxly Hires Fedie as VP of Customer Success
Indianapolis-based Doxly, a secure portal for end-to-end legal transactions, has hired Natalie Fedie as vice president of customer success. She has more than 20 years of experience in the public and private sectors, most recently leading customer success for Granicus (formerly GovDelivery).

Spensa Technologies Adds Ag Veterans to Team
Spensa Technologies Inc. has added two industry veterans to its sales and business development team. Dave Swain has been named area sales director and Chad Greenlee as regional sales manager. Ontario Systems Selects Harrington President

Mimir Hires Lead Curriculum Engineer
Indianapolis-based Mimir, a cloud-based software company, has added Vinesh Kannan as lead curriculum engineer. He most recently co-founded Omnipointment, a group project tool that helps computer science students collaborate on assignments, with Brendan Batliner. Omnipointment was acquired by Mimir earlier this month.

IBM Veteran Joins Bolstra
Software company Bolstra has named Lisa Leahy vice president of sales. Leahy comes to Bolstra after 20 years with IBM, where she where she held various positions within the sales department as a channel manager, solutions consultant, and regional sales manager. She is charged with leading the sales team and growing the client roster of enterprise accounts at the Carmel startup.

Indianapolis-based greenlight.guru, the only quality management software platform designed specifically for medical device companies, has named Jennifer Kier vice president of customer success. She previously served as global director of customer success at Genesys/Interactive Intelligence. Also, Thomas Stergar II has been appointed director of partnerships. He previously served as vice president of business development at MAETRICS.

Sharpen Technologies has appointed Pam Hynes vice president of client experience. She is an experienced leader in providing cloud based communications and engagement solutions to contact centers. Bluelock Taps Wiseman as CFO

MOBI Co-Founder Named President
Indianapolis-based MOBI has appointed Co-founder Josh Garrett president. The mobility management software company says he will succeed Mitch Black, who will remain as an adviser. Garrett most recently served as chief strategy officer and has also been involved with other aspects of the company, including sales and operations. He launched the company along with Chief Executive Officer Scott Kraege in 2009.

RetailPoint Names Director
Carmel-based RetailPoint has named J. Lynne Lombardi director of channel sales. She previously worked with small to medium-sized retailers assisting in automation and speed of checkout, management of inventory and controlled purchasing. Lombardi brings 25-plus years of experience helping retailers best leverage customized, point of sale solutions.

Axia Technology Partners Names COO
Axia Technology Partners has appointed Don Scifres chief operating officer. He is a co-founder and general partner of VisionTech Partners and VisionTech Angels and brings more than 35 years of experience in the business, entrepreneurship, investment and technology sectors to AxiaTP. Scifres previously held leadership positions at several prominent companies, including Cummins Inc., ANGEL Learning Inc., Courseload Inc. and SmartFile.

DemandJump Appoints CFO
Indianapolis-based DemandJump has appointed Jim Zaloudek chief financial officer. He has nearly 30 years of finance, executive management, operation management and mergers and acquisition experience. Zaloudek's experience includes 17 years in software, hardware and telecom with companies including T2 Systems and eGix Inc. He also has 12 years of public accounting experience.

VeriCite Selects Tech Vet as CEO
An Indianapolis-based tech company has a new leader. VeriCite, a cloud-based plagiarism detection service, has selected Valerie Schreiner as chief executive officer. She previously served as chief product officer of California-based data analytics company Schoolzilla. VeriCite co-founders Scott Siddall and Sam Ottenhoff will continue as chief financial officer and chief technology officer, respectively.

Bloomerang's Jay Love Steps Down
Indianapolis-based tech company Bloomerang Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Jay Love has stepped down. He had served as CEO since the company's inception in 2012 and will continue as chairman of the board and assume the part-time role of chief relationship officer. Bloomerang Co-founder Ross Hendrickson, who previously served as chief operating officer and chief financial officer, was unanimously named CEO by the company's board of directors.

16 Tech Names First CEO
Bob Coy has been named the first president and chief executive officer of 16 Tech. The 60-acre innovation community near IUPUI is billed as a transformational development in Indianapolis’ bid to attract talent. Coy most recently served as CEO of Ohio-based venture development organization CincyTech, which pumped more than $680 million into 70 different startups during his nearly 12 years at the helm.

Clear Software Adds Orr Fellow
Zionsville-based Clear Software has added Orr Fellow Christina Zerfas to its team. She is a graduate of Indiana University with a degree in entrepreneurship and corporate innovation from the Kelley School of Business.
