BKD in Indianapolis has hired John Phipps as technology coordinator. He previously served as technical support analyst at Mutual Bank. Phipps has a bachelor’s degree from Ball State University in political science – international relations.

Alerding CPA Group in Indianapolis has promoted Tyler Kleinschmidt (pictured) and Justin Schwartz (pictured) to audit supervisors. Kleinschmidt is a graduate of Marian University and has served since 2012.  Schwartz has served since 2013 and graduated from Millikin University. The firm also promoted Jessica Bradley and James Koglin to tax seniors and Hannah Medler to audit senior.

BKD CPA & Advisors has promoted Kelly Gao to senior associate in the Indianapolis office. She previously served as associate. Gao is a 2017 graduate of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland with a master’s degree in accounting.

Indianapolis-based BGBC Partners has named Angela Stromberger (pictured) tax manager and Mark Woolard (pictured) valuation supervisor. Stromberger most recently served as tax manager at Dixon Hughes Goodman in Huntersville, North Carolina. Woolard is originally from Australia and previously served as supervisor at WA Insolvency Solutions in Perth.

Whitinger & Company has promoted Sara Buckler to Audit Manager. She has been with the company since 2016. Buckler is a native of Bluffton. She graduated from Ball State University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and went on to receive her master’s in accounting from Ball State University as well. Sara also has her CPA license. 

McGuire Sponsel has added Natallia Pintusava as a tax consultant in the firm's Research & Development Tax Credits practice. Pintusava will provide risk advisory services and data analyses. She formerly served as a product developer at Post Consumer Brands. Pintusava holds a degree from the University of Minnesota.

Springbuk has named Joy Powell as chief operating officer. Powell was previously president and chief operating officer at CareSync. She also served eight years with Healthways, where she was president and chief operating officer. Powell holds a degree from the University of Memphis. 

Indianapolis-based McGuire Sponsel has added Sierra Enlow as a consultant in its credits & incentives group. She most recently served as economic development manager for Louisville Forward and development manager for Greater Louisville Inc.

Insight Accounting in Goshen has promoted Danielle Thompson to partner. She has been with the company for more than nine years.  Prior to that, Thompson served as treasurer at Ethos Innovation Center in Elkhart.

Plymouth accounting and financial services firm CarterDillonUmbaugh has changed its name and promoted Justin Kuhn from a junior to senior partner. The firm is now called KuhnDillonUmbaugh. Kuhn has been with the firm for over five years.

Clifton Larson Allen has promoted Kyla Greenhoe as manager of the nonprofit and higher education teams. She has been with CLA for eight years and previously served at BKD CPAs & Advisors.

Crowe has promoted Brian Myers and Ben Matherly to partners in tax services. Myers previously served as managing director based in the Indianapolis office. He has been with the firm for nine years. Matherly Previously served as senior manager also based in the Indianapolis office. He has been with the firm for 16 years.

Sponsel CPA Group has added Karen Hume as a Manager in the Accounting Services department. Hume joins the Sponsel team with more than 20 years of accounting experience in positions varying from Senior Accountant, Controller and Vice President of Finance. She will oversee and direct services to clients who require accounting solutions with general bookkeeping, payroll services and financial reporting.   

Sponsel CPA Group has added Paula Raters as a Staff Accountant in the Accounting Services department. Raters has 20 years of accounting experience and will perform general bookkeeping, prepare budgets, oversee payroll and manage financial institutions for clients. She holds degrees in accounting and business from Santa Monica College and Marian University.

Accounting firm KSM announced Zach Sauder has joined the firm as the newest director in its Fort Wayne office. He previously served as chief financial officer for a variety of privately held manufacturing companies. Sauder earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and finance from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.

KSM has rehired Madison Will as manager of transformation and innovation. Will will identify and help manage the implementation of innovative, future-focused ideas and projects to help support the growth of the firm. She previously served KSM as an accountant in the firm’s business advisory group. 

KSM has named Kerry Dunn he firm’s chief financial officer, a newly created role. He recently worked at BSA LifeStructures.  Dunn will oversee KSM’s financial systems and processes, including financial reporting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and budgeting. He earned a degree in accounting from Ball State University.

Sponsel CPA Group has added Galen Monroe as a Staff Accountant in the Tax Services department. Monroe will perform projections, tax research, and preparation of tax returns for individuals, businesses and not-for-profits. He joins the Sponsel team after graduating from Marian University with a bachelor's degree in accounting and economics.

Creatives CPA Amy Northard has been recognized by the Indiana CPA Society as a 2019 Emerging Leader. Northard is the accountant for Creatives, and specializes in working with small businesses. The awards honor CPA's who have demonstrated excellence in serving the profession, company, community and public interest. She previously worked as a staff accountant for L.M. Henderson Company. Northard holds degrees from Indiana University. 

McGuire Sponsel has promoted Justin Gephart to director. Gephart has been with the firm for seven years, and will now oversee business development activity. He first served as a tax consultant and has since worked in various leadership roles while working with individual and corporate tax clients. Gephart previously worked in the public accounting sector.

Muncie-based Whitinger & Co. has added Pam Black as bookkeeper at its Indianapolis office. She started her career as a bookkeeper and office manager and then went on to be a human resource and training manager for a large hospital system in Houston, Texas. Black then became a high school business teacher, where she led the school’s Future Business Leaders of America club that won a regional competition in Intermediate Accounting.

Alerding CPA Group has appointed Jason Plake tax manager. He has more than 25 years of experience, in corporate, partnership and individual tax planning and compliance.

BKD Indianapolis has hired Robert Munson as a senior consultant II. The firm has named Ethan Buchman and Logan Lengachler audit associates. Tara Eggenspiller, Bailey Mores and Nancy Wagner have been hired tax associates. Also, Ashleigh Langley-Bates is a secondee from ShineWing in Melbourne, Australia.

Eric Woodruff (pictured) has been named a partner of Sponsel CPA Group, becoming the sixth member of the leadership team. An employee of the firm since its founding in 2009, he previously held the title of manager in the audit and assurance services department. Woodruff will continue to lead the construction services group and also focus his efforts on growing the audit and assurance practice in the Bloomington market.

McGuire Sponsel has added Trent Wilburn as a tax consultant for the specialty tax and consulting firm. He previously worked for industrial supplier Fastenal as a sourcing specialist.

Indianapolis-based Somerset CPAs, a full-service certified public accounting and professional services firm, has appointed Jason Leveson director of technology services. During his 22-year career, he has led multiple professional consulting service organizations. Leveson has held director-level positions within the technology-based organizations Axium and Deltek.

McGuire Sponsel has hired Lydia Kaiser as marketing manager. She previously spent six years in a similar role at Essco Corp.

Crowe Horwath LLP, one of the largest public accounting, consulting and technology firms in the U.S., has elected Jason Whitmer partner and principal. The new role will be effective April 1. He has been with the firm since 1999 and works in the South Bend office.

BKD has promoted: Dan Snyder (pictured) and Nick Eichelman to director, Kerry Bejarano to senior managing consultant, Nathan Fox, David Martin and T.J. Tursi to senior manager. Also, Sara Twining (pictured) has been promoted to senior associate. Also, Satoko Suzuki has transferred to the Indianapolis office from the firm's Chicago office as a senior manager.

Christopher Sargent has joined Sponsel CPA Group as a staff accountant in the audit & assurance services department. His duties will include performing audits, reviews, compilations and agreed-upon procedures for clients, primarily closely-held companies in the construction and manufacturing industries, as well as not-for-profits. Sargent is a graduate of Ball State University with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Accounting. 

Sponsel CPA Group has hired Abigail Lingenhoel as a staff accountant in its tax services department. She is a recent graduate of Taylor University with double bachelor’s degrees in management and accounting. She is currently studying for the CPA examinations.

Avon-based Ally Accounting has hired Wendi Dickison as manager. She brings more than 20 years of experience in various aspects of tax services, having worked for other regional CPA firms. She has worked with clients spanning from individuals, to nonprofits and small to midsized business entities.

Jatinder Singh has been promoted to senior associate on the audit team at BKD in Indianapolis. He previously served as an assurance associate.

Crowe Horwath LLP  has promoted Andrew Holloway to director in the Performance Healthcare Advisory practice and leads the Revenue Cycle Analytics products and services. He has been with the firm for 13 years and previously served as a senior manager.

Kruggel Lawton CPAs has added: Kate Koval, Tyler Locke, Lydia Mitchell, Andrea King (pictured), Jon Leaman (pictured) and Daniel Nowack. Koval, Locke and Mitchell have been named staff accountants in the South Bend office. Nowack has joined the St. Joseph office as a staff accountant. BKD has promoted John Gernand to managing director of its Bloomington office. Gernand is a member of BKD National Manufacturing & Distribution Group and has more than 15 years of auditing, accounting and consulting experience in the manufacturing, distribution and service industries. 

BKD has promoted Troy Gilstorf to managing partner at the firm's Indianapolis and Bloomington offices. He started his career as an intern for the company and most recently served as assistant managing partner for the past 8 years. Also, Tim Wilson has been promoted to national tax director.

Crowe Horwath has promoted Sean Katzenberger (pictured) to principal in risk consulting. Also, Kristen Malone (pictured) has been promoted to partner in tax services. Ron Melling has also been promoted to partner in audit services. The firm has also promoted Clayton Mitchell to principal in risk consulting.

She joined the firm’s Entrepreneurial Services department in 2014. In addition to public accounting, Woehler has an extensive background in the not-for-profit sector. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Clemson University.

Sponsel CPA Group has promoted Brandon Cangany to senior accountant in its Tax Services department. He joined the firm as a staff accountant in 2015 after graduating from IUPUI’s Kelley School of Business, earning double majors with distinction in finance and accounting.

Fortman is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and Indiana CPA Society.

Whitinger & Co. has added Mike Bartlett as a staff accountant. He is a graduate of the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in Accounting. Bartlett went on to complete the education and examination portion of the Certified Financial Planner certification.

Sponsel CPA Group has named Jack Hiatt staff accountant in its tax services department. He is a recent graduate of Marian University with a double major in Accounting and Finance. 

Indianapolis-based Alerding CPA Group has promoted Tracie Delph (pictured) to entrepreneurial services supervisor and Tyler Kleinschmidt (pictured) and Justin Schwartz to audit seniors. The firm also appointed Kathryn Hartman and Hannah Medler staff accountants.

Sponsel CPA Group has named Bill Barks director of its Employee Benefit Plan Services department. He previously served at several public accounting firms in the Indianapolis area at the manager and partner level, heading up the employee benefits unit. In his new role, Barks will oversee
the group at providing Third Party Administration and Plan Design Consulting services.

Jurgonski is a certified public accountant with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Ferris State. Fredlake is a certified public accountant with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Manchester College.

Crowe Horwath LLP has promoted Mark Adair to managing partner of the firm's Fort Wayne office. He will also maintain a leading role in audit services. Adair holds bachelor’s degrees in accounting and technology from Purdue University and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and Indiana CPA Society.

RSM US LLP has promoted Jay Loudermilk and Sarah Waters to partner. Loudermilk joined the firm in 2014 and leads the Valuation Services practice for the Great Lakes region. Waters joined the firm in 2005. She has extensive experience specializing in expatriate and inpatriate taxation and planning.

BKD's Indianapolis office has promoted Elizabeth Doebler to senior consultant. She is a member of BKD National Financial Services Group. Doebler has more than 17 years of banking and services industry experience, including consumer and mortgage lending.

Susan Chapman has joined part of BKD’s administrative staff. She will provide support for the learning & development department. Chapman has a B.S. degree from Purdue University.

Adam Parkhurst has joined Sponsel CPA Group as staff accountant in the Audit & Assurance Services department. He is a recent graduate of Purdue University's Krannert School of Management with a B.S. in Accounting.

BKD has added to its team in its Indianapolis office. Greg Knight was named senior managing consultant. Manager Kerry Griesinger was transferred to the Indianapolis office from the Louisville, Kentucky office. 

Whitinger & Co. has promoted Ross Swallow to member of the accounting and advisory firm. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Findlay with a double major in Financial Accounting and Managerial Accounting with a Minor in Finance. Swallow then completed a Master's in Accounting from Ball State University. He joined Whitinger & Co. in 2006 and earned his CPA designation in 2007.

Sean Miller has joined Sherman & Armbruster LLP as business advisory services manager. For 21 years he was co-owner of a medical device manufacturing company in Johnson County.

Muncie-based Whitinger & Co. has hired two employees: Valerie Ippel, as staff accountant and Kristy Spence as audit senior. Ippel previously worked for Heritage Environmental Services LLC. Spence has been working in the accounting industry for more than 25 years.

BKD Indianapolis has hired Nick Wallace as a director. He is a member of BKD National Not-for-Profit Group, BKD National Governmental Group and BKD National Higher Education Group.

The directors of Alerding CPA Group have appointed Jered Fuquay as its newest director. Fuquay joined the Indianapolis-based certified public accounting firm in 2008 as senior audit manager.

Tomi Yoshitomi has been named director of BKD Indianapolis. For the past 11 years, he worked for a national firm. Yoshitomi is a member of BKD National Manufacturing & Distribution Group. 

Walter Renderos has joined BKD LLP in Indianapolis as an associate. He previously worked for the firm in Kansas City.
