Women’s Hoops Teams Heading to Tourneys
Several NCAA Division I women's basketball teams are set to play in postseason tournaments beginning this week. The University of Notre Dame and Purdue University earned bids to the NCAA championship tournament, and seven others will play in the Women's National Invitational Tournament or the Women's Basketball Invitational. Notre Dame earned the top seed in a bracket that could take them back to their home court next week. The Fighting Irish will face Robert Morris University Saturday.
Purdue is in the same bracket and will take on the University of Akron Saturday.
Butler University, Indiana State University, Indiana University, Ball State University and IUPUI were all selected to compete in the WNIT.
IPFW and Evansville will be part of the WBI.
