Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke will detail the city's proposal this afternoon to land a multi-million dollar Indiana University medical research campus. The announcement comes on the day proposals are due. Several additional potential sites have emerged. Developers are eyeing two other Vanderburgh County locations and one in Warrick County. Project planning could begin in May, with construction set to start next year. Plans call for occupancy by 2017.

Other institutions including Ivy Tech Community College, the University of Evansville and the University of Southern Indiana are part of the campuses long-term plans.
