INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Hope Academy graduation ceremony celebrates the academic and sobriety accomplishments of the school's eighth graduating class. Over the past several years, the White House has placed an emphasis on supporting the roughly 23 million Americans in long term recovery from substance use disorders. As the director of ONDCP, and a person in long‐term recovery himself, Director Botticelli is committed to supporting recovery schools like Hope Academy across the country.

WHAT: Hope Academy's eighth commencement, honoring 14 graduates in recovery from substance use disorders. Hope Academy is a specialized high school for students from Indiana who have had primary treatment for alcohol/drug addiction and/or are in recovery and engaged in a recovery‐based lifestyle.

DETAILS: Hope Academy Commencement will begin with a processional at 11:00 a.m. The keynote address will be delivered by Acting Director Botticelli. The ceremony will include speeches from a past Hope Academy graduate, the 2014 valedictorian, the school's principal, chief executive officer, chief operating officer and board chairman. Graduation will be immediately followed by a short reception.
Hope Academy, the recovery high school at Fairbanks, is a tuition‐free, public charter high school that provides educational excellence and an achievement oriented curriculum with the promotion of sobriety and personal growth.
