On Monday, September 30th, White County officials executed a formal Letter of Intent to enter into a public/private joint venture Project Agreement with Garmong Construction Services and Garmong Development Company, LLC, an Indiana based company. The Project Agreement calls for Garmong to provide project financing and single source design-building delivery of a 60,000 square foot industrial shell building, expandable to 240,000 square feet. Dan Zuerner, Vice President Garmong Construction Services offered, “Garmong is humbled to receive the vote of confidence from the White County Commissioners and Council to allow the proposed public/private joint venture shell building development project to move forward. Without a doubt, this project will significantly enhance White County’s reputation as a serious contender for high quality Indiana economic development advanced manufacturing projects.”

“The addition of this building will further enhance the marketability of the Mid-America Commerce Park,” said Randy Mitchell, President White County Economic Development. “We are confident the project will facilitate and expedite the attraction of companies to White County that are looking at service by rail, closeness to interstates, and relative ease to reaching the markets in Chicago, Lafayette and Indianapolis.”

The shell building will be constructed at the intersection of US Hwy 24 and CR 1200, approximately one mile east of I-65. The new facility will be constructed of pre-cast concrete to a clear height of 32 feet.

The expansion wall will be constructed of state-of-the-art metal sandwich panels. Column bays will have a minimum spacing of 50' by 50'. Site asphalt, sidewalks, drainage and landscaping will be 100% complete. All utilities will be stubbed up inside the shell facility for ease of access. The shell facility is scheduled to break ground in April, 2014 and should be complete around October, 2014.

For over 90 years, Garmong Construction Services has served Indiana and Illinois communities. With corporate headquarters in Terre Haute, Garmong maintains satellite offices in Indianapolis.
