Well-Known Sports Writers, Voices Make Indiana Hall Jaynes has worked for the radio network since 1996.

The Indiana Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association has announced its 2018 Hall of Fame class. Honorees include the long-time voice of Purdue University basketball, a former print reporter considered "the foremost expert on high school baseball in the state" and multiple former Indiana Pacers beat writers. The organization has also announced sportscaster and sportswriter of the year, as well as Lifetime Achievement Award and Helping Hand Award winners.

The honors are in the 23rd year. The Class of 2018 and award winners will be celebrated April 8 at a ceremony at Valle Vista Country Club in Greenwood.

Honorees include:

  • Conrad Brunner – formerly of the Indianapolis Star, Indianapolis News, Pacers.com and 1070thefan.com
  • Larry Clisby – play-by-play voice of Purdue basketball since 1984
  • Tim Ethridge – Evansville Courier & Press writer, editor and executive editor
  • Steve Krah – formerly of the Elkhart Truth, now with IndianaRBI.com
  • Mark Montieth – formerly of the Indianapolis Star and Indianapolis News and 1070thefan.com, now Pacers.com & MarkMontieth.com
  • Tom Rietmann – formerly of the Indianapolis Star and Indianapolis News
  • Marv Bates Sportscaster of the Year – Mark Jaynes, lead announcer of the IndyCar Radio Network and IHSAA Champions Network
  • Corky Lamm Sportswriter of the Year – Todd Golden, 13-year veteran of the Terre Haute Tribune-Star
  • Ron Lemasters Lifetime Achievement Award – Paul Condry, founder of the Regional Radio Sports Network
  • Bob Williams Helping Hand Award – John Harrell, a 48-year newspaper business veteran of the Huntington Herald-Press, Fort Wayne News-Sentinel, and Bloomington Herald-Times.

The Indiana Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association was founded in 1946. The Hall of Fame was launched in 1996 and includes 111 inductees.
