‘Ultimate Urban Adventure’ to Debut

An event that is the first of its kind in Indianapolis will begin Saturday morning and send competitors through some of the most well-known attractions the city has to offer. The inaugural Indy Ultimate is a 6.5-mile course that will include challenges like kicking a field goal at Lucas Oil Stadium, "stealing" home plate at Victory Field and racing up the steps of the Indiana War Memorial. Organizers have dubbed it "the ultimate urban adventure."
Waves of 75 racers will be sent in every five minutes beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday.
The race starts and finishes at Military Park. In addition to the Lucas Oil Stadium, Victory Field and Indiana War Memorial obstacles, the course will also include challenges at Carroll Stadium at IUPUI, the White River Promenade, around the NCAA Hall of Champions and Indianapolis Zoo, Georgia Street, Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Soldiers and Sailors Monument on Monument Circle, University Park, American Legion Mall, Indianapolis Canal Walk and the Indiana State Museum.
During a January interview with Inside INdiana Business Radio, Indiana Sports Corp. President Ryan Vaughn said the event has major buy-in from the business community.
