UAW Ratifies Ford, GM Deals

Subscribe NowTwo of the "Big Three" American car manufacturers have reached labor agreements with the United Auto Workers Union. UAW members have ratified four-year deals with Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) and General Motors Co. (NYSE: GM).
The agreement was voted on by skilled, salaried and production workers represented by UAW. For the GM agreement, a majority of all three groups voted for the deal. In the case of the deal with Ford, the salaried and production workers voted "yes" to the terms, while the skilled members voted it down. UAW says issues were reviewed by UAW-GM and UAW National Skilled Trades Department leaders, who agreed to some adjustments "that protect core trades classifications and seniority rights."
GM has four Indiana facilities: Fort Wayne Assembly, Bedford Powertrain, Kokomo Operations and Marion Metal Center.
