Two Killed in Shooting at Cummins in Seymour

Columbus-based Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) says it is working to support employees at its Seymour Engine Plant after a shooting left two dead. The incident occurred at the Seymour Technical Center, which opened in October. More than 400 workers are housed at the center and hundreds more work at the connected plant. Local police arrived shortly after calls came in at 8:45 a.m. Thursday morning. First responders found the two men dead on the second floor of the center. WTHR-TV reports the incident is an apparent murder-suicide.
Investigation from the Indiana State Police, Columbus Police and Seymour Police have continued into the afternoon.
Governor Mike Pence issued a statement saying:
Our hearts go out to the family of the victim of this senseless act of violence at the Cummins plant in Seymour earlier today. We commend local law enforcement for their swift response to this incident and will provide any and all support from Indiana State Police in the investigation.
