The Clark-Floyd Counties Convention and Tourism Bureau says two newly-created positions will change the way it markets the region. The organization says the additions will allow it to focus on web and social media marketing efforts.

News Release

Jeffersonville, Ind. — As the Clark-Floyd Counties Convention & Tourism Bureau moves to embrace Web technology and expand its marketing prowess, Executive Director Jim Epperson announced the creation of two staff positions. Kate Kane has been hired as Director of Sales and Regina Walker-Tekulve has been named Marketing and Communications Assistant.

Kane comes to the Bureau from a career which includes serving as Tourism Sales Manager for the Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau from 2005 to 2013 and as the Tour and Travel Sales Manager for the Galt House from 2013 to 2014.

Walker-Tekulve comes from a background of print and online marketing with publications including the News and Tribune, The Times and The Paper in Noblesville and in driving online sales for Beckort Auctions of Corydon.

As Director of Sales, Kane will develop new ways in which the Convention and Tourism Bureau assists lodging and other tourism business partners increase their sales from the group tour, meetings and youth sports markets, Epperson said.

Walker-Tekulve will find and develop written and visual content for the Bureau’s Web site, e-mail newsletters and social media channels. “She brings a great deal of Web expertise to the Bureau,” Epperson said.

The two positions mark a change in the way the Bureau markets the area. The Bureau is focused on Web and social media marketing to compliment conventional print and brochure promotions.

“We are in a new age with multiple channels to reach a segmented market. We have to adapt the way we do business,” Epperson said. “These new employees bring the skill set we need to make that happen,” he concluded.

In southern Indiana, visitors will find history, dining, shopping, sports, and fun with the help of the Clark-Floyd Counties Convention & Tourism Bureau. The Bureau represents the communities of Charlestown, Clarksville, Floyds Knobs, Jeffersonville, New Albany, Starlight, and Utica, just north of Louisville, Ky. along the Ohio River.
