Illinois-based The RoomPlace has marked the opening of its new warehouse distribution center and showroom in Indianapolis. Last May, the company announced an expansion in central Indiana, which included locating to the former Levitz Furniture center on Indy’s east side. Expansion to the 160,000 square-foot space includes 100 additional employees.

The retail location is the 25th for the furniture retailer and will be one of its largest. The RoomPlace has stores in Indiana and Illinois.

Chief Executive Officer Paul Adams says "we are always working towards ways to provide our customers with better services and selection, and our new store and distribution center achieves those goals. Our customers have consistently demonstrated their loyalty to us over the years and we look forward to rewarding them with an elite shopping experience with the product selection at great prices that they have come to expect from The RoomPlace."

The former Levitz building sat vacant for more than 15 years and was acquired by the family-owned company in May.
