The Intangible Benefits of Colts Camp

The executive director of the Anderson/Madison County Visitors Bureau says Indianapolis Colts Training Camp, which opens Saturday, will boost the city in ways that aren't measured by numbers alone. Matt Rust says the two-week event will draw visitors from throughout the state and region.
Camp runs from August 1 and run through August 15, a week shorter than recent years.
Rust says the Colts are one of the few teams in the league that still hold camp at a location away from the team's home city.
The team usually takes a "year-to-year" approach to where they will hold camp and Rust says he would like to see the organization continue to return.
He says much of the value of the partnership involves media mentions of the city and the university. Rust believes people may not know much about the city, but they now make the association between Colts camp and Anderson, Indiana.
