News Release
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – TechPoint, the voice and catalyst of Indiana's tech ecosystem, will recognize unsung contributors to Indiana's thriving tech sector leading up to and during the May 2, Mira Awards Gala presented by BKD CPAs and Advisors.
“The 'Tech 25' is a prestigious designation for twenty-five individuals who are critical to building organizations in our community,” said Mike Langellier, president and CEO of TechPoint. “We think of our new Tech 25 honor like a '40 Under 40' for tech but without the age constraint.”
The Mira Awards recognize the best of tech in Indiana in 14 different categories, including product or team achievement, company success, industry-specific excellence, and individual achievement of a rising star, bridge builder and trailblazer. Missing from recognition in the past were those critical role players within tech companies who enable their organizations' successes and don't get celebrated publicly as often as they should be, explained Langellier. The Tech 25 remedies that recognition gap.
“Building attractive communities where creative people want to live, and work and raise their families is a top priority for our state,” said Sue Ellspermann, Lieutenant Governor of Indiana. “I commend TechPoint for celebrating the industry leaders in our communities who are proving that you can have a successful and fulfilling high-tech career right here in Indiana.”
“When you are rapidly scaling up a company and competing globally you need teams of people who defy expectations and outperform everybody else,” said Stephen Pruden, vice president of CRM Services, Appirio. “We, of course, recognize our superstars internally, but TechPoint is definitely tapping into an often overlooked category and really doing something special by shining a spotlight on Indiana's tech builders with the Tech 25.”
The Tech 25 includes honorees from three main product building and revenue building role categories:
-10 honorees in tech product/R&D
-10 honorees in sales/marketing
-5 honorees in “other”
In addition to being star performers within their organizations, Tech 25 honorees are also excellent, committed team players who build others up through mentoring, teaching and positive example.

Steven Shattuck, VP of Marketing, Bloomerang
