Survey Measures East Central Indiana Economic Sentiment

A new survey from the Indiana University East Business and Economic Research Center is providing a snapshot of the economy in east central Indiana. The results suggest participating business owners and executives expect production, business activity and profitability to grow throughout the region this year.
More than 100 executives took part in the survey in September measuring the degree of optimism about their business prospects. Some 560 professionals in Fayette, Henry and Wayne counties were sent the survey. They work in industries including professional services, manufacturing, health care, information technology, retail trade and banking and financial services.
The IU East School of Business and Economics says the effort is supported by the Economic Development Corporation of Wayne County, Wayne County Area Chamber of Commerce, Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, New Castle-Henry County Chamber of Commerce and the New Castle-Henry County Economic Development Corporation.
