An annual ranking of professional sports team salaries includes the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacers. The ESPN The Magazine/Sportingintelligence Global Salary Survey examined close to 200 franchises. The data include football, baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer and cricket teams.

During the 2013-2014 season, the Pacers paid a total of $69.9 million in team salary, which is an average of just under $5 million per player. That places them 23rd in the world and amounts to an increase of more than 13 percent compared to the prior season. The Pacers ranked eighth in the National Basketball Association.

Last year, the Colts shelled out more than $2 million per player for a total of $105.3 million. Players' salaries rose nearly one-third year-over-year and the team ranked 143rd in the world. The numbers place them 13th in the National Football League.
