Sunday Alcohol Bill Before Committee
Legislation that would repeal Indiana's ban Sunday carryout sales of alcohol will go before the House Committee on Public Policy this morning. House Bill 1624 is expected to include an amendment that would require groceries to sell alcohol from “behind the counter” or in a separate area. You can view the full bill by clicking here.
It calls for sales to be allowed between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. local times.
Microbreweries and farm wineries would continue to be able to sell beer and wine from 7 a.m. until 3 a.m. Sundays.
Another bill involving Sunday sales, HB 1026, has been referred to the same committee.
