State Reports Lower Gaming Revenue
The Indiana Gaming Commission says monthly casino revenue decreased in December. The agency says adjusted gross revenue last month fell to $177.3 million, compared to $209.5 million during the same period a year earlier. Hoosier Park Racing and Casino in Anderson and Indiana Grand Racing and Casino in Shelbyville were the only two of the state's 13 venues to report an increase. Both racinos receive a state-approved tax deduction.
Horseshoe Casino Hammond's adjusted gross revenue of $35.1 million in December is down from $42.4 million during the same period in 2012.
Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg reported a more than $17.1 million revenue last month, compared to $29.5 million during December 2012.
The other two venues near Cincinnati, Rising Star in Rising Sun and Belterra Casino in Florence reported decreases. Horseshoe Cincinnati has affected revenue in the region since it opened early last year.
