Sports ‘Bubble’ Could be in Lawrenceburg’s Future

Northern Kentucky-based Town & Country Sports and Health Club has presented a proposal to the Lawrenceburg City Council for a $10 million indoor sports facility in the Dearborn County city. Eagle Country 99.3 reports the vision includes an 80-foot-tall pressurized bubble and attached office space.
The facility would be 110,000 square-feet and sit on four acres near the Lawrenceburg Fairgrounds. Town & Country Sports and Health Club currently runs a workout facility in Wilder, Kentucky and Eagle Country reports President J.T. Roberts told the council Monday the facility could help the area become a "sports destination" and attract tournaments and leagues.
During an informational session with the council, Dearborn County Hospital Chief Executive Officer Michael Schwebler expressed his support of the project and said the hospital would consider locating a sports medicine office at the proposed facility.
If plans receive full approval, it could open in the fall of next year, Eagle Country reports.
