News Release

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – A ribbon-cutting ceremony commemorating the new home of Curtis Products will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 30 at 401 N. Bendix Drive, the former site of the Bosch Corporation. Curtis Products purchased the 400,000-square-foot facility this month from the City. After renovations, Curtis Products plans to move into its new headquarters in late spring 2014. Tours of the facility will also be offered at Thursday's ceremony.

“We're excited for this move, marking a new era for our business and reaffirming our commitment to our hometown,” says David Heckaman, president and CEO of Curtis Products. “Our new facility will position us well for continued growth.” Curtis Products, which employs 380 people, produces tube bending and fabrication for automotive, agricultural, and other clients.

Founded in South Bend in 1959 by Floyd and Curtis Heckaman, Curtis Products remains a family-owned business today.

“Curtis Products is a great example of a company that has adapted and thrived through changing times,” Mayor Pete Buttigieg says. “With this move the company continues its longstanding win-win relationship with the community.”
