News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indy Eleven Professional Soccer today welcomed another prominent business into the North American Soccer League expansion team’s growing family with the introduction of McDonald’s as the team’s newest Corporate Partner. The partnership was ushered in as part of the club’s Goals for Indy Kickoff Party held at the Emmis Communications Building in Indianapolis earlier today.

McDonald’s and Indy Eleven announced their partnership in conjunction with the launch of the McDonald’s Player Escort sweepstakes, which will give 25 children across the country ages 6 to 10 – including a youth from Central Indiana – the chance to travel to Brazil and walk hand-in-hand with some of the world’s best soccer players as they take the field for a 2014 FIFA World Cup match. Parents or guardians in Central Indiana can visit www.McdOneGoal.com through April 6 to enter the sweepstakes.

“Working with a globally-recognized brand in McDonald’s is a great fit for Indy Eleven as the club continues to raise the profile of the world’s game here in Indiana,” said Indy Eleven President/General Manager Peter Wilt. “We look forward to partnering with McDonald’s in many ways to help soccer positively impact young Hoosiers and spread the reach of Indy Eleven across Central Indiana and beyond – including in Brazil during this summer’s FIFA World Cup.”

McDonald’s is giving young soccer enthusiasts in Central Indiana the opportunity to meet their soccer heroes competing for the 2014 FIFA World Cup title in Brazil this summer and also secure a $1,000 grant for a Central Indiana soccer organization. The winner, along with their parent or guardian, will represent Central Indiana and embark on a four-night, five-day trip to Brazil, with the first stop in Rio de Janeiro. The 25 McDonald’s Player Escorts will lead players onto the field in one of four match cities – Rio de Janeiro, Natal, Manaus or Recife.

“McDonald’s of Central Indiana is excited to announce its partnership with Indy Eleven. Partnerships like these help us showcase our ongoing commitment to offer wholesome options and promote the importance of living an active lifestyle,” said McDonald’s of Central Indiana Owner/Operator Jim Props. “In addition, we have partnered with Indy Eleven to send two soccer fans to the World Cup in Brazil for a once in a lifetime experience with McDonald’s.”

As part of the new multiyear partnership, McDonald’s will assist Indy Eleven with the NASL club’s burgeoning community and youth-driven initiatives, including this Saturday’s Goals for Indy campaign that will allow communities to gather through the sport via 100 pick-up games being held across the State of Indiana; visit GoalsForIndy.com for the location nearest you. In addition, McDonald’s will serve as the title sponsor of Indy Eleven’s Game Day Ball Manager program, which will include an online contest to select two on-field ball kids to be up close to the action every Indy Eleven game in 2014.
