Site Gets ‘Silver’ Label in Hancock County

A 62-acre property in Hancock County has earned a key economic development designation. Barr South is the second site owned by the Barr family in Greenfield to receive the Indiana Site Certified Silver designation.
Barr North landed its silver designation in June. The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs, which administers the program, says properties receiving the certification have characteristics including defined boundaries with a clear title, an established price, demonstrates executive level local government support and defines utility capacity and distance.
Hancock Economic Development Council President Steven Long says "it is a real pleasure to live and work in forward-thinking communities like Greenfield and all of Hancock County. This additional shovel-ready site prepares us for the ever-expanding growth opportunities coming our way."
The OCRA program’s other tiers are Gold and Prime.
