Rolls-Royce Lands $26.3M Naval Air Contract

Indianapolis-based Rolls-Royce Corp. has secured a $26.3 million contract with the Maryland-based Naval Air Systems Command. The deal calls for the depot repair of T56-A-427 engines, utilized on E-2 Hawkeye aircraft, including the repair of the power section, torque meter, gearbox and accessories.
The funds will be issued for the individual task orders as they are issued and 55 percent of the work will be performed at the Texas location. Canada will do 25 percent while Indianapolis will do 15 percent. The other 5 percent will be done at a California location.
The project as a whole is expected to be completed in January 2020.
