News Release

INDIANAPOLIS (April 2, 2014) – Enterprise Holdings, the largest car rental company in the world, is hiring more than 70 college-educated, career-oriented men and women in the Indianapolis region through its management training and internship programs.

Enterprise Holdings, through its regional subsidiaries, operates the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands. These new full-time employees are being hired into the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Management Training (MT) program or the Management Internship program in the Indianapolis region, which recently was recognized with a Founding Values Award for consistently carrying out the values of company founder, Jack Taylor.

The Jack Taylor Founding Values Award honors regional Enterprise Holdings teams for their commitment to integrating the company’s core values into their daily operations. That means the Indianapolis region not only achieved operational excellence during the past fiscal year, but also focused on key priority areas such as philanthropy, diversity, business ethics and environmental conservation/sustainability.

“This annual competition, named for my father, is actually a strategic management initiative,” said Jo Ann Taylor Kindle, president of the Enterprise Holdings Foundation. “Through the Founding Values program, our senior managers and their teams work to integrate our company’s core values into their local business planning and operations every fiscal year.”

On behalf of each regional team that won the Founding Values Award, the Enterprise Holdings Foundation provides $20,000 in grants to benefit area non-profits. Organizations in Indianapolis and surrounding areas that have received grants to date include the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross for Kokomo tornado relief.

“We are certainly proud of the award recognition, but we are even more proud of our employees for giving back to the communities we do business with,” said Steven Nelick, vice president and general manager for Enterprise Holdings in the Indianapolis region. “We look forward to building an even stronger team of customer-focused individuals in 2014 who not only have the skills and drive to continue to grow our business, but who also understand the importance of living the company’s values day in and day out.”

Promote-from-within Culture

Enterprise’s promote-from-within culture is the major driver behind its need to recruit thousands of new employees annually throughout North America. “We put our employees in a position to succeed immediately, and we promote almost exclusively from within,” Nelick said. “That makes Enterprise an ideal choice for candidates seeking a great, long-term career opportunity.”

Last year alone, nearly 11,000 individuals were promoted or took on new challenges in various positions throughout Enterprise Holdings’ global network, contributing to new opportunities for recently hired management trainees, and a need to add even more.

Enterprise Holdings operates a global network of more than 8,100 airport and neighborhood locations. In the Indianapolis region, Enterprise Holdings’ three-brand car rental network includes more than 80 neighborhood and airport branch locations.
