Purdue, IU Among Top For International Students

Purdue University and Indiana University are among the top 25 universities in the United States for international student population according to a report from the Institute of International Education. Purdue had more than 10,000 international students in the 2014-2015 academic year, while IU topped 7,000.
Purdue Chief Corporate and Global Partnerships Officer Daniel Hirleman says the numbers are good news for prospective international students as well as those from the United States. He says, with today’s global work force, it’s important for students to be immersed with cultures from throughout the world.
Purdue ranked seventh in the nation, with 10,230 international students, an increase of 2.4 percent over the previous academic year. Indiana University was 16th. The school reported 7,009 international students in the 2014-2015 academic year, which was an increase of 5.2 percent over the previous year. New York University topped this year’s list, followed by the University of Southern California.
