What started as an idea in a Syracuse garage 25 years ago has turned into a homegrown Indiana success story. And that story just keeps getting better, with news of around 250 new jobs. Poly-Wood Inc., a manufacturer of outdoor furniture made from recycled plastics, has announced plans to invest more than $23 million in a new manufacturing and warehouse complex in Syracuse. Poly-Wood says the expansion is needed to keep up with demand for its all-weather furniture products and to streamline distribution channels.

The company has grown a national footprint with a customer base that includes Amazon.com Inc. (Nasdaq: AMZN), Target Corp. (NYSE: TGT), Wayfair Inc. (NYSE: W) and Home Depot Inc.

(NYSE: HD).

In a news release issued from the Indiana Economic Development Corp., Poly-Wood Director of Sales and Marketing Megan Pierson said the expansion “will allow us to provide an even better experience for all of our customers and employees, which will help continue to strengthen the Poly-Wood brand.”
