The team is committing $300,000 over three years to renovate basketball courts in the city’s parks.
The organization says the funding is part of its "We Grow Basketball Here" campaign. The renovated courts will feature branding from the Indiana Pacers, Indiana fever and We Grow Basketball. Pacers Sports & Entertainment is also continuing its sponsorship of the Indy Parks youth basketball leagues, which hold their championship games in Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
The funding continues an ongoing partnership among the organizations. The Pacers Foundation and Indiana Power & Light Co. committed $1.1 million in 2013 that funded the renovation of 10 basketball courts throughout the city, including an indoor court earlier this year at Brookside Park Community Center.
Parks Foundation President Lori Hazlett says the partnership allows community stakeholders "to come together and invest in park assets that improve quality of life, connect people to places and build community."
