Indiana Landmarks is seeking nominations for a statewide prize honoring historic structure restoration. The organization will award the Cook Cup in April.

Indiana Landmarks seeks nominations for its annual Cook Cup, the only statewide prize for exemplary restoration of a historic structure.

The nonprofit organization awards the Cook Cup to the owner of a historic structure that has been transformed through a complete restoration that adheres to the highest standards in method, materials and design and beneficially impacts a neighborhood or community. The nominee may be an individual, corporation or partnership, nonprofit organization or a governmental entity. The restoration must have been completed within the past two years, and the structure must be in active use.

Indiana Landmarks inaugurated the Cook Cup for Outstanding Restoration in 2007, when the prize went to the award’s namesake family in honor of its transformation of the West Baden and French Lick Springs hotels in southern Indiana. Previous winners have included the City of Elkhart for the Lerner Theatre restoration and the University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne for the restoration of Brookside Mansion.

The Cook Cup winner will receive an engraved silver cup on April 26, at Indiana Landmarks’ annual Rescue Party in Indianapolis.

Nomination forms are available at www.indianalandmarks.org. The deadline for nominations is Jan. 31.
