Nursing School Board Chooses Markoff as Chair

Subscribe NowThe recently-retired president of the Indianapolis-based Damar Foundation has been named chair of the Indiana University School of Nursing Board of Advisors. Richard Markoff has been elected for a two-year term. Prior to leading the nonprofit, he served as executive vice president of the Simon Youth Foundation.
Markoff succeeds Health Catalyst Senior Vice President Kyle Salyers in the new role. Salyers chaired the board for five years. School of Nursing Dean and Professor Robin Newhouse says "Dr. Markoff will bring a unique energy that will advance our goals while simultaneously engaging in new collaborative partnerships with our community. His leadership in partnership with the board members will be critical to advise our school as we set strategic goals over the next five years in the areas of academic excellence, innovative research, local and global partnerships, and advancing the health of Hoosiers and beyond."
The board was launched in 1993. Other members are Brenda Cleary, John Dewey, Nancy Dickenson-Hazard, Mark Douglas, Anita J. Harden, Betsy Kovacik, Bambi McQuade-Jones, Laurie Peters, Kyle Salyers, Nancy Sharts-Hopko, Mary Tempel and Dr. Virginia Caine (ex officio).
