Rolls-Royce in Indianapolis is being honored by one of the world's largest defense contractors. Northrop Grumman Corp. (NYSE: NOC) is recognizing Rolls-Royce for its manufacturing and maintenance work on the U.S. Air Force Global Hawk Unmanned Aircraft Systems program. The Global Hawk is used for missions involving antiterrorism, humanitarian assistance, and airborne communications.

Its engine is manufactured in Indianapolis.

At the same Marion County operations, the company also produces propulsion and lift technology for the U.S. military including an unmanned helicopter, a transport aircraft and a combat fighter.
